Question System won't boot to OS after freezing

Hello,

My system froze during regular usage, after a while I hard reset it, but it booted straight to BIOS. No error messages or anything.
In the BIOS it shows my NVME SSD present, but the selfcheck immediately fails. I've reseated it, but that did nothing. Enableing secure boot does nothing either.
What is going on here? Did my NVME just brick itself out of nowhere? Is there any way to fix this?

MB: MSI x750 Gaming Plus
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X
RAM: Corsair DDR4 3200MHz 64GB
Boot drive: Samsung SSD 980 Pro 2TB

Well, send it off under warranty, and got a 2TB 990Pro back. Apparantly the 980 has a built in defect that will brick it at some point regardless of what you do with it.
Installed the 990 and it works right away. Total data loss though, my bad for not using backups. Luckily all the important stuff is saved on other drives.

Attached peripherals; external hard drives, USB-powered mice can potentially cause issues with power, driver conflicts, or issues with boot order
