I am new to this forum so hello
I googled my problem for 3 days now without a solution. I brought home a technician and found out the problem but not pleased with his solution so registered here to clarify a few things.
I have a Windows 10 Enterprise Version 64 bit 21H OS Build 19043.1766 on a Gigabyte Z370 HD3P with Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB Graphic Card. For complete systeminfo, please see the end of the post.
Everything was fine until the end of June 2020 after which I installed some Windows updates. My Desktop won't boot at all after that. It would get the power supply, fan worked, motherboard, keyboard and mouse would light up but the display showed nothing.
To confirm this was not a monitor issue, I connected the monitor to my Laptop as extended monitor and it worked fine. A quick Google search showed CMOS Battery could be the problem. I replaced it with a brand new one but still the system won't boot.
I could not figure this on my own so called in a technician. He figured out Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB Graphic Card to be the problem. When we remove it, the system boots. When I insert it, it won't boot - same problem as before.
He is saying, "You did some updates. GTX 1050 Ti is not compatible with those updates so it is time you forget this and get some latest Graphics card." I fail to understand how a software update could make this GTX 1050 Ti incompatible to an extent where I must simply give up on the Graphics card? Could this be true? I cannot find any official source that talks about the Windows OS build version and its compatibility with GTX 1050 Ti. Can anyone help?
I want to add one key information - Before I brought the technician home, the system would boot up "sometimes" (say 1 in 20 desperate tries). I kept pressing F12 and it will take me to BIOS Set up and say "Your BIOS Configuration has be reset." then it will ask me to select the Windows boot image then it loaded Windows. So, i wonder that the Windows Update did some change to my BIOS Setup due to which GTX 1050 Ti has now become incompatible. It was working fine before the Windows Update though.
I also looked into my update history and could not point what could have caused this issue. Please see this image https://ibb.co/Yd3GRtd
