Please Help!!! I have had this topic up for 3 weeks under two different titles and I still can't get an answer. Idk where else to turn to on the internet.

As title states, I bought a new monitor(viotek gn34c) and when plugged into the DP port on my gtx 1080 the system lights blink and the system will not boot. Once I unplug the displayport connected from monitor to gpu the system boots, I plug the displayport back into GPU and the system is awaiting for my to type in my win password. It works from there. No issues and can use it for hours for gaming, watching videos and reading.

My system displays correct resolution (3440x1440) as well and all games that support it work properly so everything else seems to be functioning properly. I am just having problems with booting when displayport is plugged into GPU. Please assist

New monitor did not come with its own DP cable. I have used original that I was using with my Dell 29 inch Ultrawide. That cable never had any issues with the dell monitor. Also again, if I unplug the cable the system will boot, then I simple plug it back in and it recognizes my system right away.
