Question System won't power up

First post here!

I have an Asus Prime B450M-A motherboard purchased with a preinstalled Ryzen 5 3600 CPU and stock cooler. It has worked fine for about two years, then one day it would no longer start when I pushed the power button.

I suspected the PSU, so replaced that. There was no improvement.

I then replaced the motherboard - again, it still won't boot.

After switching the PSU power switch to on, a light in the case lights up. When I press the case power button, it lights briefly, goes out again and nothing else happens. The power button no longer lights when pressed unless I turn the PSU power off and back on again and then I press the case power button.

So I am wondering if the problem might be the case power button. Or, much worse, the CPU.

What should I be doing now to eliminate more potential faults?

Many thanks.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Make and model of your PSU and it's age? Try and take the processor over to a known working motherboard(that has the right BIOS version to accept your CPU). If the processor also does nothing on known working board, it's very likely that the CPU conked out.
