I had an issue where the psu had died. After advice on this forum I replaced the psu and everything seems to start up. However, there is no beep and no video display. All the fans are spinning and lights are on.

I took out the graphics card and connected monitor to onboard VGA socket but no luck.

I am not sure what is causing the pc to not startup. I do admit that during the psu replacement I had to take off the massive heatsink/fan to get one of the power cables plugged in. I then reseated the heatsink with new paste.

BINGO! SOLVED.
The mobo P8Z68-V - I looked up online manual and it said it had a few diagnostic LEDs scattered across the board which indicate area or problem. So I plugged it in , started pc and I could see the red LED for DRAM was lit up.
I had previously checked memory sticks. Anyway I removed stick A and started pc and still same problem. Removed B and installed A and bingo, no red light and system started up.
So t looks like DRAM stick B is faulty. Anyway I up and running with just one 8Gb DRAM.

Thanks for your help guys.
Just one thought. The 12v ATX plug came in 2 halves (2x4 pin), I wasnt sure which side goes left or right but I installed them with the lugs on the front side. If this is wrong could this be the culprit. Does it matter which side the 2x4 pin plugs go?
