t-bird temp

i have a 1ghz t-bird in an asus a7v and within 2-5 min of booting up my cpu temp goes from 45 to 60+. i have 2 7500rpm fans, an alum heatsink, and gobs of thermal muck, whats wrong?
 
which heatsink? gobs of thermal muck or a fine layer?

its an aluminium (alum) heatsink. theres enough thermal goo to connect the die to the heatsink
 
how big is the heatsink?

you should use just a little bit of goo

do you know the model?
does it have many fins?
can you post photographs?
a 6x6x4cm heatsink?
+ 2x7500 rpm fans blowing on it?
unless the heatsink is a complety piece of sh¡t it should run cooler
is the sink seating properly on the cpu?

its a generic heatsink. the 2 fans are both ~4500 but are stacked on top of each other to make the bottom one 7500. its installed correctly. i cant post a pic of mine but ill look for a similar pic on the web

I do not know too much about aerodynamics, but I think those fans could work better if you put them side by side...

Just try, I think it's not difficult, if it's no better, put them like before.

I read somewhere a review and the OCZ Twin Turbo Socket Cooler was better than the OCZ Quad Cool Socket A Cooler, so side by side they would work better.

It's also a great idea to have case fans. I've only got the exhaust fan of the power supply blowing out and a hard drive cooler with two fans blowing in, I noticed that when I installed the hard drive cooler there was a lot more air getting out of the PS and it was way cooler.

these temperatures were taken while my computer was on its side with the side case off, but i also have 3 chassis fans (an exhaust, an intake, and one rigged up in the middle), a power suppply exhaust, a heatsink/fan on my video card, and a northbridge heatsink/fan.
im not an aerodynamics expert either, but putting an ancient 486 fan on top of a 4500rpm generic fan bumped it up to 7500rpm
ill try putting another fan or too next to it.

have you checked your CPUs voltage, maybe you changed it without noticing?

the top fan is rotating counter-clockwise and the bottom one is rotating clockwise. w/o the top fan, my cpu temp jumps to 65+ (70+ w/ full load). the voltage settings are correct
