Well, even though I am only using a 64 meg video card, I finally got
to play the demo.
On the plus side, nice graphics, a bit nice to have the option of
first and third person views and a percentage of how much loot you
found.
On the negative side, miss the rope arrows, miss the blackjack
hanging in the air before you put their lights out and a bit of lag in
load time between "areas".
Found 78% of the loot in the demo and enjoyed it a bit. Need to find
time to rent/buy the full game to see how well it really is.

I'm not keen on the "instant hit" blackjack effect, where is the animation?

On the "plus side", you can tell when you're lined up - the NPCs shift
their stance to have the back of their head face you when you get in
range. Of course, consolers would claim this is not an example of
"dumbing down".

And the convenient pause a NPS does just as you thump em. if I was
suspicious I'd say that was a work round for the fact that you'd probably
miss em otherwise, due to garrets standing still thumping animations.

They don't get lined up until _after_ you click the button to strike.
There is a slight delay before you see the blackjack move though.

I'm not a well adjusted person, but I play one on the net.
