so ive been troubleshooting my computer since i got back from my deployment ( 2 weeks ago). i had it working 100% fine for about a year and a half, i deployed in march so i just left it in a climate controlled, no chance of anyone or anything going in and messing with all my stuff because its my house and it was just being watched over. 6 months pass and i return to a PC that doesnt work. how this is i dont know but let the troubleshooting begin.i have removed all components, 1 for 1 swapped everything. reseated the CPU 5 times. got a new power supply and new heatsink.
How i arrived at the new heatsink was when i was 1 for 1 swapping everything. i briefly started my computer for about 15secs to just see if i could even get to bios, and it worked. so i thought it was that specific cooler that was shorting/making difficulties for me. [err on MOBO is 32, which is CPU post memory initialization] upon arrival of the new cooler, installed it and this is the series of events that unfolded. laying the computer on its side after initial install. err 32. so i was like okay maybe its just seated weird, so i re-seated the CPU again and reinstalled the cooler. while it remained laying on its side, i found success and it booted to 99, which is the initial startup code [super IO initialization] here i thought i had fixed the issue, stood my computer back up and started it again, just to go back to 32.
Im truly bewildered on what the issue could be, ive evaluated the CPU and Motherboard sockets many times over and i see no visual defects, no pins are bend, everything looks as it did the first time i laid eyes on it 2 years ago on the initial build. the last thing that i just did was think that the heatsink contact surface was touching something on the outside of what holds the cpu in, so i put electrical tape over it making sure to be as neat as possible and for the tape to not touch the CPU or MOBO. it did not work, so it leads me to believe there is something going on with the CPU/MOBO connection somehow but at this point i would be just be building a new PC at this point.
i hope this covers every question, i need a new direction because im literally out of ideas besides just making another computer.
