T3 Timeouts happening (internet cuts out).

Hello! I recently moved into an apartment and they provided an AMBIT modem/router (1 unit). Several times a day the internet will completely shut off, as if the modem is rebooting. Attatched is the event log the router provides on its "Modem" page. Should I get a new modem or is it something my ISP should fix? Thanks!

if this modem is from your provider i would contact the technical service and if they ask send them the report .

It appears you device is having trouble sending data to the main office. The most common cause are the splitters. The need to be ones rated for data and you only want a single splitter between the incoming cable and your modem if at all possible.

Now it may not be this at all. Their could be a issue with the cable from the street or it could be a configuration issue with the ISP.

If i remember correctly UCD messages are related to the main office telling your router which freq to use to talk back on. It either does not work for some interference reason or it is invalid channel....then again i am tired and this may not be correct so ask the ISP what they think.

I talked with a technician and he rebooted the router and "cleared the flaps". Does this sound remotely like anything that would solve a problem like this?
Also, in reference to your answer (which I'm very thankful for by the way), is there anything I can do myself to fix some of the possible problems you listed or is it something a TWC technician would have to do. (I'm getting this internet through my apartment and it was already set up when I got here so I really only have access to a cable plug in the wall and the modem
Itself.)

Last question (just as a though), would a new modem fix this issue? (One that's just a modem and not a modem/router)?

It looks like you may have a line issue at your home or the modem is defective. I know this as I owned a Surfboard 6121 on charter and it worked great for a year but then started rebooting its self and giving T3 and T4 errors. As I read it from others who experienced this problem they said that the modem signal levels were to high or low and would cause this, also an amplifier or splitter on the same line can also cause this. I presently own a Surfboard 6141 with Comcast and was receiving signals as high as 53-55 dbmv's on downstream channels, I was worried as that seemed high and so I had a tech come out and he said that was way out of Docsis spec(too high) and he did a direct connect from the street to my house to the jack so that it lowered the signals back in spec and it has worked fine since day 1.

Note: On the same charter line with the 6121 I had charter replace my modem with a Cisco dcp-3008 and it worked ever since the tech hooked up the modem.
