Tablet Screen Damaged, Repair?

I woke up this morning and my Asus Nexus 7 2013 tablet's glass screen was cracked on one corner. Nothing else is damaged, I have no idea how it got damaged because it was working perfectly fine, no damage before I went to bed. I can't use the tablet anymore because the touchscreen is nearly impossible to interact with.
What would be my best course of action for repair? I've never opened up a tablet before, and I'm not sure if I'll be able to repair it myself.

Okay. So I should definitely try to find a service that will repair it for me? Do you have any suggestions?

I think (know) someone damaged it last night after I went to bed, I left it out on a couch. But there's no way for me to figure out who.

Well I suppose I'll try that. I'm currently in Italy on an international semester, and I don't know anyone who could help here. I'll probably wait till I get back to the US.
The problem is there are 30 people here living in the same place who could have done it, some are friends some aren't.
