I'm going to buy an android tablet to read books on. And I was wondering if the Lenovo TAB M9 (64GB) is more than enough for this purpose? Its currently on sale for 114 USD. I feel that its size would be perfect for reading and there aren't many other options for tablets of that size over here.

Another option would be the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9, but I'm unsure if it is really worth it for my usage, considering it is 219 USD.

I've already got an e-reader, but the isssue at hand is that the libraries where I live can't put books in my native language on overdrive. So they use android apps instead for them.

There are certainly e-ink android devices that support the play store. That is where I would go.

Not really sure what the ideal would be for a more typical tablet geared towards reading. Higher resolutions would mean less battery life, but sharper text clarity. Backlight vs emissive displays, I think I would prefer a more standard screen than an OLED for that.

Been shopping a little myself. I have a pre-kindle e-ink reader, and it is really starting to show its age. Though full awards for longevity.

Hmm, only issue is that I want to buy from a webstore/store inside of my country. And the closest I can think of then is the Onyx e-readers. Which I've heard various negative things about, particularly that the screen gets damaged fast.

So I've sort of setteled for looking for a regular tablet instead. But I appreciate the suggestion. 👍
