I've posted my build in here 3 weeeks or 1 month ago i think, but now that I've researched more seems I'm having a tough decision on what components to use, previous I've post, I like phantom 820 case, so I'm gonna buy this one, because of prebuilt LED's, a very large case, but now , seems it's not applicable i have in mind and phantom 820 cost's high and therefore I'm gonna change some of the components.
So,
What I'm gonna do on this build is for gaming (my first time). To be able to play high- ultra settings games.
My budgey maybe somewhere between 1.5k-2k USD. I'm from Philippines and I'll be ordering my parts from our local store here, the owner also told me that I'll let him know my specs and hell try to get it. I really don't plan on overclocking because I've heard it can reduce the life span of your CPU/GPU and the power cost consumption, maybe I'll get a factory overclocked GPU. For now, I really don't have plan on SLI/Crossfire, because of the monthly power bill it consumes, maybe in the future I'll try SLi/Crossfire but for now, 1 gpu is enough for me. Also, for my components, I purely depend on air cooling. That's why I think phantom 820 was a bad choose for me, but the case is cool though
I won't upgrade on my components, as long as it can handles in high or ultra settings with a good Frame rate, if it's gets to medium settings and can't handle newer games, then that's the time I'll be upgrading. I would like to play MMORPG games , like guildwars 2, dragon nest , those massive pvp . I play games like BF3, , total war shogun 2, etc. Simulation games like sims 3 and the upcoming sim city games
My main components:
CPU: i5 3570k
Maybe I'll this one since Im not really overclocking my CPU: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
GPU: tought time on this EVGA FTW 670, ASUS DC II gtx 670 TOp? (what's difference on top and non top edition?) or maybe a GTX 680? if budget fits. but if gtx 680 give a less boost well I might stay with gtc 670 factory OC'ed. Or does the AMD 7970/7950 are power hungry?
Mobo: selecting on this, maximus v-gene, sabertooth z77, asrock extreme4 ( or a z77 motherboard that are not costly but performs great, because in the future , maybe the socket won't be 1155 anymore. )
Case: choosing on this one:
CM Stryker, CM HAF XM or the Silverstoon RV03 (RV03 bottom intake fan is really effective?) ( or any case that is effective in air cooling, mid tower case or full tower that is not too costly)
PSU: based on my main components is 650w is enough or should I get a 750w? I'll be adding some fans if the case allows me and maybe some LED lights. . What's a good brand PSU? a corsair HX modular series or the Seasonic X- series? any recommendations?
RAM: corsair (2x4gb) or g. skill (2x4gb)
I'll be buying my components maybe this end of december 2012 or 2nd week on january 2013. I know there's a gtx 700 series coming or the amd 8000 series GPU, but if I wait for that, I won't be getting for myself, technology is fast improving
the other or the rest for my budget will goes to SSD 128gb, 1tb HDD and I'll be getting a samsung 23" 1080p LED monitor also. For now, I'm not going to get a gaming mouse or keyboard or a gaming head set, although I'm jealous of it and has cool looks, but cost high and in the end, in gaming, skill that matters, just as long your mouse are fnctioning and your keyboard/ headset works Ii'll be getting an ordianry headset or speakers (that you can still hear an audio from your game). Mostly of my budget will be focus on the top components.
