Take a look at the CPU I’m looking to get.

I’m wondering if this CPU will allow me to stream and play games at a good FPS and produce good quality streams.

Or should I go with the i7-4790?

I’m looking for suggestions I’m not really good with specs and such but if you could help me that’d be great.

**Note**
I already have this build purchased and have been using it for about a year and a half now. Currently I have a i5-4460 it’s good and all but streaming with muni GPU isn’t just bad quality.

Thanks again,

- Ryan

well i7 has a bit higher clock speed than the Xeon and price is almost the same. Go with the 4790, it'll give you a slight edge in performance.

Although I won't recommend spending any money on older hardware. Save up a build a new one, you'll get much better value for your money.

Though if you're tight of cash and you've made your mind, then sure go for it

Your CPU socket (LGA1150) is outdated pal. You can't go past 4th gen and a few 5th gen (doesn't matter, it's still an old CPU) processors. I'm telling you that if possible, save up and build a new PC from scratch. You can reuse every part except CPU, Motherboard and RAM

a 4790 is still a large step up from the i5, which will afford you more cores to set aside for the streaming software.

But you may actually not need to do anything, except setup your streaming software correctly.

You can try OBS since it's free:

And here's how to set it up for local recordings, as well as use multiple audio tracks if you desire.

And to set it up for Twitch:

If you don't mind could you possible edit my current build and put what you think would be affordable and decent?

Hi James!

Thanks for the links I can't seem to get my quality right with NVENC that's the reason why I can't stream with my GPU it doesn't look good.

Well what's your internet connection like? You need a pretty high upload speed to stream in good quality (like 20+ Mbps)

I have 70 Down and 6 Up

My stream is stable on the bitrate of 4000 but overall the stream will lag but obs isn't lagging in fps drops or ingame. There has to be some way

x264
Rate Control: CRF
CRF: 15-25 (lower = higher quality, you "can" go below 15, but that will be high data sizes)
CPU Usage Preset: can be lowered to superfast/ultrafast on high cpu usage

x264 uses your CPU, which while you kind of have an okay one, many new modern games will use the 4 cores of it.
That final link I gave from before can help mitigate that if you do try it.

Would that be it?
