Hi, when i copy some file in the program files folder for example, a windows opens saying "Destination folder access denied", You'll need to provide admin permission to copy to this folder. I click continue and it works. But, is there a way to take ownership of folder so that I won't be asked again? I see that the owner of program files is Trusted Installer, can't i just change it to myself by typing my user name?

Solution
You can take ownership of the full drive(properties -> Security -> Owner -> Edit -> Select yourself and use the checkbox to "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects").

It is more advisable to only take ownership of things you need however.
The only reason I recommend taking ownership of all items is to avoid future issues.

Some software may have it security permissions to allow only the "owner" to modify it and once you are the owner, these other programs may have some issues.

For data recovery, go nuts.

A quick way to get into most folders without messing with permissions would be to add your self to the read/execute or even full control(full control again may not be recommended by all).

You can also just run something like notepad as an admin(right click and select Run as administrator) and use its open menu to go look around in folders. This works well without having to change any settings.

Remember, Windows limits access to some parts for users as a security feature. Even users in the Admin group are not administrative until they request elevated permissions. Before this, unwanted software had full run of the system.
