Taking a hard drive form an Acer computer

I'm wanting to build a new computer, and I was wondering, could I take a hard drive from an older Acer computer and use it in this new computer. I'm assuming it will work, but I wanted to know if there would be any problems since it was on a computer from a specific company. I would be buying a new copy of Windows and I would be planning on erasing the hard drive.

Assuming it is a SATA interface, the physical drive will work just fine.
