Taking apart or cutting the cord?

I have Bluetooth headphones(don't know the name or brand) where the left side is not working unless I push the cord in. I have a feeling the wires are not connected and I was wondering if I have to cut the cord or take the earbud apart. If someone could help it would be greatly appreciated.

I'd have to see a picture...but USUALLY problems in cords are at the ends. the conductors can even break inside the insulation. I've seen this lots of times.
