taking off the anodize on motherboard heatsinks

If I de-anodized my Z170M PLUS and Z97-A heatsinks, would there be any problems? Would the cooling be better or worse? I will not re-anodize, BTW.

I would assume worse. De-anodizing would leave bare aluminium which will result in a chalky oxidized coating from the air, over time at least.
