First example displays the link as a hyperlink, second example displays 'Some Text' as a hyperlink pointing at the link, which is a bit prettier to look at.

This information is in the FAQ at the left, BTW.

This computer is also an ULTIMATE gaming machine as well. Just picked up Doom 3, runs this game on highest settings flawlessly!! With no drop in frame rate during intense fire-fights.
Suprising, considering even a 6800Ultra at the highest settings (which I would assume means a minimum of 1600x1200, 16xAF, 4xAA, Ultra details) can't do this, and this PC contains a 9600XT. good card, but not <i>that</i> good. I also note it says 'XP3200+' even though he's been forced to add a little comment saying 'ooo sorry, forgot to mention it's an Oc'ed XP2500+)..

Ok, so its a way-overpriced decent computer, but is it just me or is it extremely ugly. Its in that plain dirty looking case, with a homemade window kit?

Well at least the noob paying $750 still has 4 days to figure out he's getting screwed (He could have built it new for that price).

Naw, not with dummies like that out there. This guy is FOS! A 9600XT-128mb just plain isn't good enough anymore, nor is PC2700 ram on a watercooled set-up. Goofy!

Eh. It could be worse. I've seen PS2 keyboards auctioned in a way that makes them sound like PlayStation 2s unless you read the fine print. For that matter I've seen a PlayStation 2 box auctioned so that it sounds like an actual PlayStation 2, again, unless you read the fine print. But then I've even seen a simple piece of paper with PlayStation 2 printed on it <i>clearly</i> idenfitied as such in the description so that only an idiot would think it's a PS2, auctioned with people bidding on it as though it were a PS2.

Let's face it. There are at <i>least</i> as many idiots out there as there are geniuses. eBay is a great place to find the intellectually challenged and earn an idiot tax from them. The sad part is that you don't even need to be deceptive to do it, but if you look you can certainly find a great share of deceptive auctions there.

And let us not also forget that it's near impossible to prove if what you're buying was even legally purchased or just stolen property. But then, does anyone care? The same could be asked about the deceptions.

I actually called the guy out on saying its a 3.2GHZ, and he replied, and I quote:

Instead of making outrageous claims, why dont you read the auction all the way through. Anybody who has any remote knowledge about AMD processors knows that the rating 3200XP corresponds to an intel pentium rating of 3.2. Anybody actually willing to purchase this computer would know that an amd 3200 operates at 2.2 GHz. I am not misleading in any way. I am a very reputable seller, so if you dont have a constructive question, why dont you keep your comments to yourself or go learn more about computers. Oh and by that way of the more then 16000 people who have viewed this auction, you are the FIRST to say that this auction is misleading.
Am I wrong in saying that the XP3200+ is NOT a 3.2GHz processor...NO

What a jackass.

Then when I questioned him re playing Doom 3 FLAWLESSLY at High quality, here was his response:

Maybe if you'd ask me what drivers I am running on my ATI 9600 XT you would understand why Doom 3 runs so well. Try the ATI Omege drivers http://www.omegadrivers.net/ and yours will run just as well. Try it with Far Cry as well, I run that game maxed out graphics FLAWLESSLY So again, before making claims of misleading auctions ask question! Dont accuse! I hate people who dont know enough about computers and try to argue with someone who does. I have built MANY high proformance machines. I konw the best graphic cards for the price. I also know that the best drivers are definately not the ones provided by ATI. SO get infromed before accusing.
I mean come on, who does he think hes talking to, some moron who only knows how to turn a computer on??

And when I said that I would report him for a misleading auction, here was his reply:

Dont make idle threats, I have built numerous computers all high-end machines. Clearly you dont know a damn thing about AMD or Intel processors. All you have done is made yourself look like an ignorant fool. Would a person with 100% selling feedback try to steal peoples money? All this is really funny coming from a person with a feedback rating of what, 15?!! You really think that eBay would believe you look at my feedback vs. yours. Ha, get some experience with ebay, read about computers and THEN make criticisms.
Am I reading this right? He is advertising an XP3200+ as a 3.2GHz processor, and hes trying to tell me to learn about computers..

An arse is an arse is an arse. If you feel like it, report him. It'd certainly serve him right. But I do have to agree with him in one respect: anyone who spends that much money without researching what they're buying (and thus believes his 3200MHz claim) probably deserves it too. Not that this makes it right, but just that an educated consumer wouldn't fall for his lies in the first place.

And when I corrected him on the FSB of the XP300, and with regards to the R9600XT performance in D3, here was his reply:
Really? I didnt know that! I said that the processor has a FSB of 333 BC it does its an 2500XP. 3200 have FSB of 400. Oh and how did you like those ATI drivers? Works well when you dont actually use the drivers ATI gives you huh? Why do you think that ATI releases low performing drivers? That way we all buy their newest products, the catch is you dont need a new radeon X800 to have a great looking game. If you dont believe me come over and see Doom 3 run ABSOLUTELY SMOOTHLY on the highest settings.

And all the GHz scale is is a rating system. It really doesnt mean anything. Since Intel owns 84% of the markestshare of micro devices (which im sure you already knew) most people think in intel terms, hence the 3.2 ghz. Because when all is said and done this computer DOES run like a 3.2 ghz pentium

I added an amendment to my auction to make you happy, so go check it out. This is for you the one peroson out of 20000 who thought this auction was misleading...!
I especially like the part where he says the GHz scale is a rating system and doesn't really mean anything...

PS. Here is his e-mail address, for anyone else who want to prove what a moron he is: dumasryan@hotmail.com
or just to enter for free e-mail

Maybe its time for me to start building computers on eBay, seems to be very profitable. Except I couldn't do it without feeling bad for the noobs.

It can be real profitable. It can also be exasperating. I just opened up my new Zalman ZM80D Dual heatpipe sink for my 9800Pro card. Guess what? They sent me a new Zalman 7000 giant heatsink/fan for a P4. It's going to look pretty wierd on the side of my graphics card. Aaarrrgh!

I wonder if it is against eBay policy to forewarn the bidders? Maybe someone should create a new eBay account and actually give these bidders a warning that they are getting ripped off.

I mean it is partially there fault that they didn't research this before throwing away $900, but this guy is an arse and I don't want to see him profiting from this.

He corrected his auction. No real way to warn anybody unless you want to e-mail the bidders. Those neon lights sell, don't they!
