Is it possible to tap into a VGA cable and install a RCA pigtail to connect to a recorder?
I need to be able to record a build process of with screen captures. There process is in the the bios and preboot menu options. I do not want to sit with a camera and try to take pictures. So I was thinking if i can get an RCA pigtail off of a VGA and patch it into a USB TV converter to a laptop I can then use Camtasia to record the process. Unless someone has another idea of how to do this? This would also be while viewing it on the pc monitor at the same time.

You need a Video Capture device that is designed for VGA, and a secondary PC to record the data to.

I don't have time to research the available products, but here's how it works:

The device should have a VGA splitter, then output the captured video stream via USB which you then record on a computer's drive.
