Tascam US-122mkii Not being recognized

Hi All,

I was having trouble installing the drivers on my windows 8 machine but i was able to run it in compatibility mode. The only problem is that my PC does not recignize the unit when i plug it in to my usb port. any ideas?

It looks to me like Tascam only provided drivers up to Windows 7, not drivers for Windows 8. That may be a problem. tascam.com/product/us-122mkii/downloads/
Can you contact their tech support and see if they have win8 drivers?

EDIT: No, I'm wrong, the manual says 7 or 8.

Another thought: When the device is plugged in, does it show up in the Device Manager at all, with some sort of error or warning next to it? Or it is not detected in any way?

Scam!!! They should change their name to taScam! I have spent over 4 years trying to get my us-122 to work! That's right, 4 years trying to get my crap us-122 up and running with no luck or hope that it will ever happen. Hell, I am just trying to download the driver!!! All I get are error messages and total frustration. I bought my crap us-122 in the States and then move abroad shortly there after. First I tried to install the driver from the original cd and got error messages. I contacted the company by phone and through email on numerous occasions and all they could do was refer me to a link which I tried. After countless hours and hours of trying to download the driver in different ways, uploading different unzipping files, reset program defaults, nothing absolutely nothing worked. I think the problem starts with taSCAM using their own run program instead of allowing window install wizard to run the program. Note to taSCAM, stick to music and let Microsoft worry about running driver programs. The worst part of my taSCAM experience was the customer service. Every time I contacted them, they either gave their stock crap answers or they made it seem like it was operator error. They never once acknowledged that there might be a problem with their driver! Hey, if you screw up own it and make it right. I will never, ever buy another taSCAM product and encourage everyone else to do the same. There are many quality companies out there with great working gear. And many who back their product with good customer service if there is a problem. Dont buy taSCAM!!!
