im running a 16gb kit of gskill trident z clocked at 3200mhz but task manager is only showing 1600. i have it overclocked in bios and it shows in bios 3200. im really confused as to why its not showing it im windows.
Ddr = double data rate 1600x 2 =3200
You can also verify running 3dmark firestrike at end of test it will open up a web browser look tofor compare online and click it you can see ram speed at the bottom.
For some odd reason Microsoft seems to have changed that in a recent windows update. Prior, it would read the DDR speeds as shown, now it seems to be reading the actual data rate instead. Yours isn't the first post to be on this subject of ram seemingly all of a sudden running at half its rated speed.
