So I was on task manager after I unplugged my mac book air 2017 from the outlet. I had let it charge overnight so I wasn't surprised that the time on the AC reached around 10 hours. I used it for a bit and then the time on AC went up. Now the time on AC on my laptop is 39:51 hours! I feel like this can Significantly damage my battery life possibly making me replace the battery so I really hope this comes out as a visual glitch. After I let it charge overnight I then let the battery die fully which took about 3-5 hours which I know is a bad sign but I have had the mac for about 3 years and I NEED to replace the battery but the cost and time it takes might hold me off for some time until the battery life becomes unbearable and dies in no time. I then after that plugged in the mac let it charge for about 2-3 minutes and then booted it up and what do you know, this time the time on AC is going up like it should be but instead of removing the previous number, it added on so now it is at 40 hours. Another problem I am also having is that the laptop was nearly fully charged and it said that it would take 40 minutes, spoiler alert it didn't and it took around 3-5 minutes. Just so you know I have speculations that my antivirus has caused this. I installed Bitdefender total security 2020 and ran a scan and it came out with 7 positives, 2 of which were adobe flash player things but I removed them anyway. After that my mac's battery was falling absurdly fast and I deleted Bitdefender and now it seems to have solved it and my battery is somewhat fine. Any ideas of how to fix Task manager? And also how did it happen in the first place? All help is appreciated!
