Taskbar changes color and theme every now and then by itself?

So I'm a new Windows 7 user and I've noticed that last night when I left the computer on my taskbar's changed from grey to lightblue somewhere during the morning. Also, when I hover over or click the icons on the bar (say firefox), it no longer shows small samples of the windows/maps, but instead just shows the name of the map/program/window (the normal old xp style).

Then after a bit of time on the computer, the screen suddenly flashed and the taskbar was back to gray again and everything became how it was before. Why the hell is the computer/windows 7 doing this by itself?

Go in and try to set up the win 7 generic screen !

I had a very similar problem with my xp machine.. and now i just experienced the same problem with my windows 7 machine. I ran Norton and it says everything is fine... i rebooted the machine a few times.. and the problem isn't coming back... but i suspect it will later.

Most likely malware... still checking on web for resolution
