Solution
what size display, sometimes the number of icons that show can be affected by resolution.

It seems odd they are smaller, should be same size.

I can see how to do it in win 7 but the menu doesn't appear to exist in 10, they merged most of it into settings now. Most...

changing resolution of screen a few times may fix it as well - https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...-smaller/e60a11d0-ce97-4888-9958-966c0a985c89 - same applies to changing screen scaling, might fix it.

tried changing scaling and resolution. doesnt help.

thats same size screen as mine although I run at 100%

Try a clean boot and see if it changes anything - make sure to read instructions and make sure NOT to disable any microsoft services or windows won't load right - https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows

if clean boot fixes it, it shows its likely a startup program. You should, over a number of startups. restart the programs you stopped to isolate the one that is to blame.

I doubt that help, but it would if a startup program could resize those icons, I don't know of any.

try in safe mode
  1. go to settings/update & security/recovery
  2. under advanced startup, click restart now button
  3. this restarts PC in a blue menu
  4. choose troubleshoot
  5. choose advanced
  6. choose startup options
  7. click the restart button
  8. choose a safe mode (it doesn't matter which) by using number associated with it.
  9. Pc will restart and load safe mode
that tell us if its drivers.

Have you got latest GPU drivers?

The icons on the left will always be bigger, even if you use small icon settings, but yours on the right look smaller than mine regardless of which icon size I choose. I normally use small

If the above troubleshooting steps including clean boot didn't help, it will probably take ages to figure out and isolate the source through diligent scrutiny. At which point I will simply not bother or do a clean install if its too significant.
This is a very unusual problem though.

disable that stupid taskbar you are using, it's not Win10, it's some custom junk that causes problems. uninstall it

its that stupid ClassicShell causing you issues, ditch it.

classic shell may have settings to increase the icons, i just hate it so much... lol it's been the cause of a lot of issues I've had to deal with.

the Win10 shell is so clean and fast, why do people never want to change?

here's how to config it to use larger icons, which can be done

http://www.classicshell.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=5665

make sure, if you must use it then use the latest version.
