Hey all, was wonderin if anyone out there could send some info my way. I'm getting ready to purchase a tbird 1.4ghz and was wondering what would be a good choice mobo for it. I'm looking for one that would take advantage of ddr, so if anyone could give me a few mobos that support ddr and are of good quality, i'd appreciate it a lot. Thanks and godspeed.

The Abit KG7 would definitely be my first choice. It's not quite out yet.
Second would be the Asus A7M266.
Third...well, just get one of those, you'll be happy :)

Anyhow, they both use the AMD 761, which is the currently best performing DDR chipset around, and both companies are very good. Only two companies I'd buy a motherboard from, although I'd be satisfied using motherboards from a few other companies in a pinch (Iwill, Tyan, MSI).

Hope that helps. The only review I know of for the KG7 can be found <A HREF="http://www.hardocp.com/reviews/mainboards/abit/kg7/" target="_new">here</A>.

Reviews for the A7M266 are plentiful, check them out <A HREF="http://www.xbitlabs.com/mainboards/asus-a7m266.html" target="_new">here</A> and <A HREF="http://www.planetamd.com/a7m266a_1.shtml" target="_new">here</A>.

Hmm, well thanks a lot for the info. I was thinking kg7 myself, but this comp isnt for me, im building it for my friend's graduation. I'm basically doing it pro bono(his mom is paying for the parts). The impatient bastard wont wait for the freaking kg7s to come out no matter how many freaking times i tell him to just wait. Oh well.
