Hello!
I purchased a new C2D a few days ago. I installed it into my system and now I am worried about the temperatures of my new CPU. Today I stumbled upon the great Core 2 Duo Temperature Guide and the guide stresses that Tcase + 15c = Tjunction. As you can see on the attached picture, this is not the case for me ;-) When I do a 100% stress test with TAT, TCase goes up to 70°+ 8O
Ambient = 22°
Chipset = P965
C2D = E6400
CPU Cooler = Zalman CNPS 9500 AT
Frequency = 2135
Load =
Motherboard = Asus P5B (newest BIOS, flashed yesterday)
Vcore = 1,23V
To clarify my intention: My TCase temperature goes way beyond 70° when I do a 100%@TAT and idles around 55°. Furthermore does the equation Tcase + 15c = Tjunction not hold (in my case). So, is my CPU damaged or is simpy the TCase temperature reported wrong? Can I trust the temperatures reported from CoreTemp? Or are they unreasonable? Which temperature does my CPU actually has?
I would really appreciate some help!
Thanks a lot in advance and please excuse my bad english (not a native speaker...)
Before I forget it, I´m very sure that the 9500 AT is mounted correctly ...
