I'm a little slow on this, just trying to catch up on the newsgroup. Your
just about right. I heard that the barkeeps would have a large chalk board
where they would keep track of the pints and quarts you drank.
Unfortunately, some of the barkeep weren't quit honest and instead of
putting a chalk mark on the pint side of your tab it would go under the
quart tab. Hence the expression "Watch your P's and Q's".
