Team Fortress 2 Won't launch

So, when I try to launch TF2 from Steam, it says "Preparing to launch TF2", then when it could run, nothing happens. My status became from "In-Game" to "Online", and TF2 won't launch. Nothing happens, and it is on Windows 7.

(I had a Windows XP too, and it worked on it.)

Have you tried to verify the local data cache through steam? Could be some bad files in your directory. Should be able to do this if you right click the title in your games library on steam, select properties. Somewhere in the tabs is an option to verify the integrity of the local game cache, which verifies the downloaded files are correct. Give that a shot.
