I was wondering what would be a good monitor for gaming on an AMD build. I have two ASUS R9 280x's and I want to get the most out of them. I know AMD is working on their own version of G-Sync software called "Freesync", and was wondering if I should just wait, or buy a monitor now. My budget is $300.

If you've read the reviews of the users of GSync from team green, then you will know that the monitor is worth it's salt.

With flawless refresh rates, and NO need to revolve your GPU settings around a fixed 60Hz monitor, i would wait to see if they announce how long it will be until the Freesync will be available to the public.

But if the wait is too long, i would go with a 120Hz monitor at the least. I didn't, and i regret it now.
