I have a home based computer repair shop, but sometimes you get the customer who wants to do it themselves and pick your brain. Can I charge them for the education even though I don't have a teachers certificate?

Solution
Do not know where you live but if you are not offering any certifications, degrees, classroom credit, and do not claim any form of accreditation then I would not expect a problem with not having a teacher's certificate.

You may or may not be able to charge consulting expenses. Becomes a matter of 1) customer relations and 2) maybe some implied liabilities.

The first requires some judgement on your part. The second requires a lawyer.
