Hi all,

Got my EM Night Rider today, and other than a broken fuse holder under
the playfield and some chime issues, it plays great. One problem, and I
can't quite figure out why, but while playing a new ball, the first pop
bumper or kicker that is struck lites the "Same Player Shoots Again'
light. Shoot the ball up the lane, rattles around and sometimes falls
into the kickout saucer (this doesn't always lite the SPSA lite), but
hit a pop bumper (any of them) or kicker and on it goes. So, every ball
played earns a free ball, and the game never ends! What should I be
looking at to correct this? Granted, it's a great way to rack up a huge
score, but I want to try and do that the right way. Hints? Suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Do you have a manual?
It sounds to me like it may just be the contacts on a relay being too
close together.
If your really unlucky, it might be a wiring issue.
You can check out
http://www.marvin3m.com/fix.htm
for some good information.

I would start a game, lift the playfield (ball out 1st), and tap around
with the handle of a screwdriver looking for little sparks/arcing of
the contacts that may need to be adjusted.

Good luck,
Lee

Check the extra ball relay(in the bottom of the cab). it could need an
adjustment.

mike, i was the friend that owned the game. i played it the night
before to make sure everything worked. i played all four players and
all was fine. is there anything that could have become loose or
disconnected during the ride? check the easy things first, sounds like
a rough ride with the fuse holder and chime problem plus the free ball
thing. i am sorry you are having these problems, it is too bad that
night rider is a good one and fun to play. barry

Barry,

Yep, there was a broken fuse holder under the playfield (replaced and
working well). I haven't had a chance to look much further at the game,
but as I wrote to Brian, the game was in fantastic shape...better than
he described it in the auction. Most likely it'll be an easy fix, since
it is in such good condition...just gotta find the time to look.

Thanks again,

Mike
