Have a gauntlet II PCB here that was working fine earlier today. It spent
some time out in the sun today, and now some of the walls (not all), have
garbage in them. I'm assuming one of the ROMS got fried. Any idea how to
find out which one?

Did the EPROMS have covers over the glass window? If not you probably UV
erased some of the chips. Otherwise I would go into test mode and see if
you get any error indicated like bad ram or whatever. You can lookup the
locations in the manual.

Pull them out and verify them in an EPROM reader? It'd be one of the
ones in row 1 or 2.

Sun isn't likely to erase an uncovered EPROM in just a day though.

I've seen it happen.. But, if not erase it surely could have scrambled it a
bit. At any rate yes an EPROM reader would do it if he knew the ROM
checksum values.

I just use the Gauntlet sets from MAME to verify.

If you can get the image onto a computer with internet, you can also
use the identifier at http://coinop.org/romid.aspx
