TECH: JP doesn't recognize ball drain in multiball

I have a situation: when my Jurassic Park goes into multiball it
sometimes (50%) does not recognize when one of the three balls drains.
There is about a 7 second pause while the machine still thinks that
there is a ball on the field when there really is none. The machine
then performs its auto kickouts and a ball is auto-fired from the
plunger.

This seems to especially happen when a ball drains while the machine is
"revving" up multiball.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

That sounds like the problem; i will take your advice. And I will also
give all the switches a look too!

THANKS FOR THE HELP!

thanks - since I already have replaced the ROM (from an older version)
and the problem never cleared up, I think I am going to check the
trough next. Do you know of any problems with the way ROMs are burned?

Had the same problem on mine and it turned out to be the last microswitch in
the trough was getting stuck on the plastics switch housing. I simply bent
it out a tiny bit and the problem went away. Every so often it would crop
up again but ONLY if I lost multiple balls at the same time in a speedy
fashion (ie the balls were moving fast and typically SDTM).

Burn a new ROM. Its a design flaw. Sometimes these DE games, not just JP,
all of them do that on various pints in the games.

Also, ball through assembly in DE games is not the sturdiest or the best in
the world. Inspect visually and manually for problems. Either one of those 2
is likely the culprit.

Not aware of any problems when they are burned. If they pass the test and
the machine boots up, it should work correctly.
