Hello,

We have recently bought a used Tek 780 printer, after short while it
developed the problem illustrated here:

http://www.codeangels.com/misc/images/tek_780.jpg

It basically leaves variable traces in the same position on the page
if it had some substantial coverage (The problem will often not appear
if page contains just text).

Am I right in my assumption that the Imaging unit causes this?

Wierdly enough we got PhaserMatch ICC CD with the unit, although it is
a 160mb "780 Graphics" machine, will a upgrade to 192mb of memory with
3rd party PC100 ram automaticaly make it "780 Plus" and enable usage
of PhaserMatch or does it need the original "custom" memory for that?

Best Regards

Kirill

This problem is caused by the fuser unit,
If you open up the fuser tray, remove the oil suply roller and look at the
upper fuser roller you will see some damage to this roller.
This is usualy caused by the thermistor scraping against the roller surface.

regards
Jeff

Dear Jeff,

You are right... 🙁 Looks like we would have to look for replacement
of the upper fuser roller.

Thanks for the hint!
