Well there are basically 4 these days. Well, there are more, but for consumer boards 4 dominate.

MSI
Gigabyte
Asus
Asrock

There is also:

Biostar
EVGA

Or for professional use:

Supermicro

Actually, I'd probably break it down like so for consumer level motherboards (price not taken into consideration)

Tier 1: Intel, Asus
Tier 2: EVGA, Gigabyte, XFX, MSI
Tier 3: Asrock
Tier 4: Biostar, Zotac, ECS, Jetway, Foxconn

I mean, the obsolete ones like XFX and Zotac probably aren't worth learning about. Heck, I just learned about it, never knew they even ever made boards until just now.

EVGA tier 2? Really? I thought EVGA is known for mediocre boards.

See my updated list and yes, EVGA, in my opinion, is a tier two. Just like their graphic cards.
