Im trying to figure out why my machine keeps shutting down and I think I may have found the problem. Speedfan is giving me readings of up to 120c on temp 2. my gpu reads around 35 and my cpu, 30. But when playing a game, temp 2 goes from 40's to 100+. It will jumo from 50-80 in a second. Is this a true reading or is the sensor messed up?

Solution

Whatever temp 2 is measuring, that has a heatsink problem. Read the manual and use google to find out where temp 2 is, then fix it.... problem solved

your computer is shutting down when gaming, and speedfan is showing sudden rapid temperature rises.

This means that the cooler is not attached properly, or has no thermal paste on it.
Stop using the PC immediately, and check.
