Temp jumps with H80i

I have a 4670k hooked up to an H80i. When running tests like prime95 on stock frequencies, the temp instantaneously jumps from 25C to 60C. Isn't it suppose to change gradually? That and the pump temp doesn't seem to be affected very much as it varies very little. I know Haswell runs hot but this strikes me as odd. Is this normal?

Solution

Haswell has a little more variation from chip to chip than previous generations that's most likely what it is coming from. If you want you can try to re seat the block. Personally though I think everything sounds fine and I wouldn't worry about it too much.
I ask because my friend has one and his temps change slowly and keep it cooler than mine. That and his pump temp would fluctuate above 30C. My temps won't change despite putting my fans to maximum from minimum fan speeds.

Alright pump and fans are different so lets make sure we separate them.

1) where are your fans plugged in?
2) where is your pump plugged in?
3)What is your current pump speed?

1) One fan is on the top, one is in the front, and one is on the side. 2) My pump is in the back of the case. 3)Pump speed is roughly 2200. My core voltage is a little more than 1.0. and runs at 3.6 while Prime95 is going. My motherboard and intel extreme agree with corsair link at 60C

Pump speed is right were it should be as is everything else really.
So your problem is that Fan speed doesn't effect Temp?

Yes.

H80 is push pull if I remember right so make sure the fan speeds are matched.

Didn't think of this earlier but what is your ambient?

I have an different AIO right now. Zalman 310 with a single fan same size rad though and my temps are 75C prime95 under load.
