So it had been a while since I changed the paste on my 5900X , and today I decided to try Arctic MX6 where as before i've always used Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut.
All seems well, although idle temps are slightly higher between 40 and 45 (Current idle after running Prime95) and while running Prime95 small FFT's , the temp at max load is a LOT less than the Kryonaut, barely maxed out at 75. Kryonaut idles were 35-40 and max was 80+ never over 90.
I had read that MX6 is really for when the system is under max load, thats when it shines, so I think I can gather thats the case here, are these temps what ppl would expect too ? I am relatively happy but just wanted peace of mind.
Also, my AIO is coming up on 3 years old, working fine, NXT (I can't remember which model off hand tbh) but how often should they be changed ? When they break down or a certain time frame ?
I would assume its a case of if it's not broken don't fix it.
Just for reference I tried also the penta dot paste application, seems to have been very good.
