Temperature display?

I was wondering, dose a motherboard need a special temperature display thing for a computer case with a temperature display on the front? What dose it plug into? Dose it plug into anything at all? Thanks.

That display is probably just a reaadout of the internal case temp and is connected to a probe inside the case not attached to the MOBO in any way. Seeing that the pic shows a 22.9C (73F) room temp readout with no MOBO installed in the case !!

Good call mate , But, it must plug into something? Maybe a molex?

THe power is probably coming from one of the other front panel display plugs (perhaps the power switch) doubt they would bother using a molex connector as those take very little power for the display.

I believe the supply for a temperature monitor / fan controller would most likely come from a USB header on the motherboard.
