Temperature help/advice

Hey, this is my first time building a computer and i don't know if the temp or other things are right.
what are some software i can use to see if it is running normal and how can i adjust my cpu fan because it running loud.
mobo:msi p67a-g43 (b3)

I've seen some getting temps into the 50s, occasionally the 60s. It depends on the game. Also, the CPU for games doesn't matter, as long as it can keep up. However, should you get into video processing, or other CPU-demanding activities (gaming is GPU-demanding), then a high-powered CPU is needed.

From my experiences, with the i7-2600K (very similar to your i5-2500K), when idling, I'm getting around 35 to 40C for the most part (I have a rather warm 26C room right now). Under load, I've seen it reach close to 60 (not from gaming, but batch converting WAV files to MP3 (5 instances running), and also video processing). This is with the stock heatsink and fan and no overclocking. With a dedicated heatsink and fan, I could get this considerably lower.
