Hello,
I would like to know if hitting temperatures of 80-83 max under heavy load with an rtx 2080 is normal.
Thanks!

Hey!Heavy load as in stress testing or as in editing and/or 3d modeling?
What is your cards model?Hey!
Heavy load as in 144 fps gaming
That worries me. I'm playing COD MW at all ultra graphics 1080p, getting like 120-160 fps, and getting an average of 80 degrees Celsius. I'm worried about the long term lifetime of the card..It’s going to depend on the specific card, any overclocking, the case and fan/airflow setup. You would not want it any higher while gaming.
I’ve got a triple fan 2080 Super which I have tried overclocking on the weekend and it got up to 70c while under 100% load playing COD MW @ 1440p. My case has good airflow with 3x120mm and 2x140mm fans.
80-83c is not unsafe but you really don’t want it going much higher. However the card will boost less at higher temperatures. What is your case airflow like, how many fans do you have? That worries me. I'm playing COD MW at all ultra graphics 1080p, getting like 120-160 fps, and getting an average of 80 degrees Celsius. Im glad to hear it's not unsafe. It's never getting above 83°, and I won't be playing games as demanding as COD, so it probably won't overheat. I have 2 fans and only one airflow for the case, and 2 fans for the gpu, and 1 for the cpu. The case the cougar mid tower80-83c is not unsafe but you really don’t want it going much higher.
