Hello everyone,
I am at work right now so don't have my exact numbers but my computer has been having an reoccurring issue the past few months and it is very frustrating. Mainly while in game, sometimes was not, my computer would shut down randomly and then power itself back on.
My first point of fixing this was replacing my PSU since with my old one i was getting +5 V warning and was around 5.49-5.65...which was a 650W Bronze Certified Coolmax.
I replaced it with a OCZ Modxstream pro 700W PSU..no longer saw those +5v warning and checked my bios and was around 4.95-5.07...thought that fixed it since...but the crashes still happened...not as often though..once to twice a week.
When the crashes happened I would receive a message like this: Windows did not shut down successfully, if it was due to not responding or to protect data....
I have downloaded CPUID to monitor my temperature, idle and in game...
Specs:
CPU: A10-5800K 3.8
GPU: XFX HD 7870 2GB
MOBO: F2-A55-M
RAM: G-Skill Ripjaw 8 GB DDR3 1333 (CAS: 7-7-7-21)
My CPU gets extremely hot, idle i believe was around 45-55 C, at work have the numbers at home, and i recall while in game was at 72-80 C.
My GPU was at a steady degrees i dont remember the numbers but nothing over 125 F...(i know C is better i just remember the F)
Now i would like to mention, my brother did change the BIOS settings to high performance before and i was unaware and until the crashes started happening and check the bios for temps and saw the performance tab from normal to high performance...i changed it back and loaded optimized defaults to hopefully reset that but did it damage the mobo and cpu??
Also, does anyone have a good resource to read more on temps for computers and how they should run? I would like to have a better understanding of this.
Side note: in preparation if i have to replace the MOBO and CPU
I purchased the FX-6300 and ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 and a Cool Master Hyper 212 EVO along with it.
Is that a good replacement? I did it quick since there was a deal and 1 mobo left in stock.
Sorry for the long post =/ hope someone can help and thank you so much!
