hey guys,

I've just got a new computer and have downloaded MBM5 to monitor the temperature and it's telling me that the CPU is sitting at 59 degrees, and the case is sitting at 40 degrees. This seemed a bit high to me, and upon running 3DMark03 the 70 degree alarm went off half way though.

What's a reasonable temperature for these to be sitting at, and why is it showing so high?

that lead to a mis-reporting of cpu temps. Download the latest drivers and see if that doesn't fix the problem. If not try reseating the cpu cooler with Artic Silver or some other grease.

Where is your computer? Is it exposed to open air, or closed up in a desk?

Your temperatures should stay below 60° C. Stuff over this is "ok" but would have me a little concerned (Those temps I mentioned are under load not idle). Make sure you have at least one case fan, your case temp is little high.

Also just to double check, try touching your heatsink while the computer is on, to see if it feels warm or not. Not the most accurate but it can sort of clue you into whether or not your temps are reporting right.

I dont think mbm5 is recognizing the sensor on your mobo. I believe MSI set up for one sensor (bios and all) then switched horses in mid-production. First off, what is the date on youer bios. If it is older than mid-august, go to Msi and update.
