[SOLVED] Temporary PC

So my PC is getting very outdated (i7 920, 8GB DDR3 1600mhz, GTX 970) and I am going to do a temporary upgrade. I will be playing games at 1080p, 60hz (getting a 240hz 1080p later on). I am doing a small upgrade for now so I can play competitively and hopefully make some money/get well known. I will be reusing the storage and power supply. I am thinking about going to

CPU - Ryzen 5 3600 (then 9900k)
GPU - RTX 2060 Super (then 2080ti)
Storage - 128GB Boot SSD (Re-use) + 1TB NVMe M.2 970 Evo (Re-use)
Motherboard - ASRock X570 Taichi
PSU - Corsair RMX 850w (Re-use)
RAM - 32GB (2x16GB Sticks) Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB @3200mhz (Re-use)

I will be using the 3600 and 2060 super for a productivity PC so it wont be wasted. Is this a good upgrade until I have enough for the 2080ti and 9900k?

How quickly will you go from the 3600 to 9900k and the 2080Ti? Also what cooler will you use, the 9900k runs very hot?

I don’t think a 2080Ti is a good option for 1080p. I know you are going 240Hz but generally the games that can achieve 240 FPS tend to be games that run on lower end gpu’s with ease (esports). The higher end AAA games will generally be cpu limited long before the gpu.

I said the same thing and here I am with a 256GB SSD boot drive half full. WIth time and Windows Updates that drive will fill up. Windows can give you problems too with it's update when a big one happen. It will slow down too if you fill it up. 256GB is safer.

That's true. I will be using a 360mm, 280mk or 240mm AIO for the 9900k. 2080ti I was also thinking is a bit excessive. Probably go to a 2080 or 2080 Super. I will be sticking with the 3600 and 2060 super for atleast a year

I agree but I already have the 128GB drive so why spend more money. I could just buy a 256GB one if it will make much of a difference and be easier. I just thought why not re use it 🙂
