[SOLVED] Temprature

under low load the temprature is jumping between 40 and 50C on cpu
when 100% jumping from 60 to 75..
I'm using oct to monitor and test. is this normal ?


CPU: Threadripper 3970x
Cooling: Custom Waterloop only for cpu, waiting for grapich card

low load sounds normal.
load temps look like ~62°C with some spikes that aren't atypical for Ryzen since heat builds up faster than it can be dissipated. so I'd say it's alright. For a regular CPU I'd say it's a bit on the high side but for a 3970X? below 70°C under 100% load sounds pretty decent. Without knowing the liquid temperature I guess that's normal at least I've not seen anyone to bring this beast under 60°C under full load.

I have had it at 56C avg with spikes, with full fan speed, but lowering the fan speed to 60% it only goes up 4-6C ,, and noticeable lower noise.

I don't have static presure fans right now, 8 Corsair LL 120 fans push/pull. thinking about ordering some EK Varder static presure fans, test if there are going to be any difference.

and get a water temp sensor, first Water loop build, and didin't think of it, but can see now that it would be pretty awesome using water temp as sensor for fan speed
