Right, so recently I reinstalled my Be quiet! Dark rock pro 2 cooler after deciding to install Gta 4, after installing the cooler, requiring me to remove my MB 4 times due to human error of forgetting things I finally installed Gta, gave it a whack at full settings, tried the benchmark, great, 66Fps average on the benchmark at full settings, though weirdly, on all of my games recently, the GPU Temp has been shooting up to 85'c, 87'c was the highest it hit, before any of this, I normally checked my GPU temp on Starcraft 2, with that never reaching beyond the 60-70'c on Max settings, tried it earlier and it idles on 70'c with V-sync on. (Card used to idle at 60'c previously @ Max settings + The FPS being double of that). Even games such as Garrysmod when the activity forces the FPS to tank in certain areas would cause the GPU to hit around 80'c. Could this be the GPU cooler not being flush with the GPU?

Notes:
Card: Gtx660
Core clock MAX: 1170Mhz.
Brand: EVGA with the standard cooler.
Card is factory overclocked.
Case has decent ish wiring, airflow seems alright though the fans are quite shit.

Well 80's not the end of the world for GPU's and temps are going to fluctuate from game to game. So you're saying that you reseated you cpu cooler and your gpu temp's went up? Have you reseated you gpu cooler since the change in temp's?

I haven't yet, I may check today if I can be bothered but the thing is, when it hits the maximum the fan get's rather annoying, but It's just rather weird that the temps would shoot up after installing the cpu cooler, could it be that the CPU cooler is drawing in all of the air that the GPU would've normally gotten?, bear in mind the CPU cooler is a dual fan cooler, also the case has 2 fans on the front pushing air inside, but they seem to be piss poor on pushing air, was quite tempted to order 3 Noctua fans and mount 2 on the front, 1 on the bottom to shove air into the GPU.

The card is currently in my system, the fan is working of course, from the rather loud whine when the card hits It's max temp.

I have the 2 cpu fans pushing towards the exhaust, look up the NZXT H2 and that's my case, still got the standard fans. There is an exhaust fan FYI.

Doesn't matter mate, it's gotten worse since, I've got 3 instances / screenshots of my games causing the card to hit 97 Degrees celcius, during that time the clock speed jumps like fuck, the voltage hits an abnormal high and generally the card has no idea what to do, Games including that are Minecraft, Tomb raider, Gta4.

i would check if there is nothing that made contact with the case and motherboard also you psu could be short on the overvolt protection i would try another one and if you could also try another old graphic card to see is the temp goes as high and the voltage raise like the gtz 660 .
