Question Ternary CPU ?

I know the Russians were developing ternary computers since the 50s, but gave up on it after a few decades because the rest of the world ran in binary. However, most of the computing world already knows about ternary computing, so it's not like the Russians are making some new fangled thing that'll give them an edge.

So will it revolutionize computers if we bring it up again? Maybe in specific applications where it's more economical than binary, but that's about it.
