Terrible error with 5750 and windows 7 x64

I just built my own computer but i have been getting a consistant error. I installed Windows 7. There were no video drivers running, so I downloaded the latest ATI Catalyst drivers, my screen would black out every couple seconds then pop back up and say "Display driver ATI Radeon Family has stopped responding and has recovered." It repeats this over and over every couple seconds.

If I can make it into a game before the error hits me, the game plays just fine with no interruptions.

Heres my specs:

Phenom II 955
G.Skill ddr3 1333
Sapphire vapor-x 5750
Gigabyte GA-ma790gpt-ud3h

What can i do to fix it?

Last time I had this issue with a video card it turned out to be failing memory on the card after I had eliminated that it was PSU issues. Had to do RMA.

If the memory is failing and that is whats causing it, How then am I able to play video games just fine?

Id get another graphics card and test the system with it to see if the 5750 you have is the problem.

I'm having the same problem with an asus 5770 with windows 7 64 bit.
I5
p55 ud4p mother board
700 watt silent pro
4gig gskill memory

I've looked up a few things, some people are saying memory, some say drivers, I didn't completely understand the fix but someone said it was being cause by the core clock dropping too low in 2d mode.
I'm trying to decide if I should rma this one myself. but I really feel like it's a driver issue since it didn't happen during the 30 min i was running dual monitors.
Has anyone heard if the 58xx cards are having the same issue?

I actually had the same problem, except with a 7600 GT. It worked fine in XP, but in Vista x86 and Windows 7 x64 it would produce the same error as the OP. Once I upgraded to a 5750 using Windows 7 x64 I no longer have the problem.
