Terrible FPS on Arma 3 but i have a good setup (Gtx 980,8gb ram, AMD 9590)

Hi, so i recently upgraded my pc from a gtx 770 and amd 8530 too a asus strix Gtx 980, 8gb ram, AMD 9590 and i also have water cooling and what not, and i have seen no improvement, probs less fps from my old setup ....i dont understand why my fps is so shit.....its low on pretty much every game, not low like unplayable but my old pc had more fps......Help :/

Have you maxed out your detail settings as soon as you upgraded? i.e. the view distance slider in ARMA3? It is the main thing that will eat your FPS.

If you are getting low FPS in every game, then you might want to check on the managed HDD page file sizes of your hard drive(s)

Did you reformat/reinstall your OS when you upgraded? If not, you definitely want to do that.

I have 780ti's in SLI, i7 4930k and 32gb ram and i only pull 30fps on fully maxed. It must be the game.

Hi, thanks for replying, and i have changed it so many times, yes the fps goes up but its nothing compared to what my friends get and from what the videos iv seen, i have over 300gb spare on my HDD and i did reinstall windows

My friend with a single 780 gets the same FPS As me with a well worse CPU also wondered basically the same question myself but i don't play all that much so it doesnt bother me a load. Get an answer drop me a PM!

Fact is Arma is poorly optimized. Single player your fps should be decent. Im assuming you are talking about king of the hill, multi etc. The more people and the more things going on drop your fps. Im lucky to get 20fps in a 50+ king of hill match. The game has also been said to run a lot better on an intel chip.
