The Nook has a higher level of 'lock in' though doesn't it?

This is a decent spec quad core tablet for £120 with just two or three Tesco apps tucked away on it. After that its a plain vanilla Android Tablet to do with as you please.

Small correction to the article, it's not made by Archos. Archos contributed to some of the software and performed the the Google registration/certification.

And another - it's the same price as the Fire HD and £20 more expensive than the std Fire. However, as per @daglesj - the Hudl is practically vanilla 4.2.2. Bonuus! Whereas the nook and Fire are completely locked. Plus, the spec for the Hudl is beyond that of the Fire HD.

If the dev community (on xda, etc.) starts supporting this, it will be a hugely attractive purchase for many people. If it could run the latest CyanogenMod, it would be pretty easy to recommend.
